CIA files show agency trusted Cuban exile Luis Posada Carriles

But Posada would later be accused of masterminding the bombing of a Cuban airliner in 1976, hotel bombings in Havana in 1997 and other crimes.

Miami

Recently released CIA files from the mid-1960s show Cuban exile and suspected terrorist Luis Posada Carriles informed on violent Miami-based efforts to attack Fidel Castro's fledgling Cuban government even as he was deeply involved in helping them.

In the files, the CIA also appeared confident that Posada was a moderate who would not embarrass the agency or the United States.

"A15 is not a typical kind of 'boom and bang' individual. He is acutely aware of the international implications of ill-planned or overly enthusiastic activities against Cuba," Posada's CIA handler, Grover T. Lythcott, wrote in a July 26, 1966, memo, using a code name for the Cuban exile.

Another memo describes Posada as loyal to the U.S., of "good character, very reliable and security-conscious."

1. And this is the agency we're supposed to trust for intelligence
I wouldn't trust these clowns to rate a game of Three Card Monte.

3. Posada is a perfect example of Cuban exile thuggery now
living in Miami. This terrorist and his buddy Orlando Bosch are living the good life free from any worries they will be brought to justice.

4. The terrorist Posada also "worked" for them in Central America
during the genocides there.

They knew exactly what he was, is.

9. I wouldn't count on it
These two terrorists are well protected by our conservative reps Ileana Ros and the Ballart brothers. In fact there in Honduras protecting wealthy peoples interests right now. They sure know what's important for Miami constituents.

10. He's just one of many Cuban exiles who were "trusted" by the CIA in their quest for
democracy everywhere in the world. Democracy being synonymous with unfettered capitalism, that is.

Do some reading about the CIA during the years before, during, and after the JFK assassination. A good one to start with is "Legacy of Secrecy" by Lamar Waldron and Thom Hartmann. The Cuban exile community has been doing the CIA's dirty work for decades.

Recommend.

11. The only reason this guy is walking around is because he knows
too much about "where the bodies are buried", (CIA terrorist activities). Thank God he will be dead soon from old age at least.

12. Does that mean he told his CIA handlers about the Cuban airliner bombing before it happened?
Guess we'll have to wait until 2016, at the earliest, to find out.

13. my guess is that the CIA made this 'historical evidence' up
from scatch to make themselves look better in the public.

This CIA file is completely fabricated and a joke. No one can seriously belive this garbage. This evidence needs to be lost or misfiled like it has done whenever real historical evidence surfaces which makes the CIA looks foolish and incompetent, which it always has been.

Posada was a bloodthirsty murderous terrorist from the earlist days, a monster who delighted himself in the creative uses of plastic explosives, which where always supplied to him from the CIA.

He is still the same bloodthirsty terrorist and no amount of doctoring of their files will change those facts.

Send this illegal immigrant back to Cuba so he can face justice for a change.
