S.D. ghostwriter mum on Sarah Palin memoir
Source: The San Diego Union-Tribune

One San Diegan knows all the details of Sarah Palin's soon-to-be released memoir, but don't ask her about it. She can't tell.

Lynn Vincent, Palin's ghostwriter, has signed a non-disclosure agreement. She has been hard at work on the book for the past few months with Palin, the former Alaska governor and John McCain's running mate.

So Caribou Barbie cannot even make it through a 400-page pop-up book without the help of a ghost-writer? How Mav-ricky.

1. I'm sure it will be a ridiculous book.
Our local NBC affiliate ran a poll last night, "Do you plan to read Sarah Palin's book?" and the results the last I saw were 70% no and 30% yes. I don't think too many people will be buying it in Alaska, anyway. We're so done with her.

13. How many people actually read anything?
Actually, if 30% say they're going to read a book, that's a pretty big market. However, a lot of those who say they're going to read it never will get around to buying it, let alone cracking it open.

22. Not when there are viable options to buying it
like going to the library, stupid friends who really did go out and buy it, and other ways as well.

My choice: don't buy it, don't read it, don't even look at it, unless it's a featured book at the local brick and mortar.

Another option way down the line is at Amazon, get it used for a penny. :)

3. This is news?
I'm not quite sure how this is even news. Rare is the instance where a politician writes a book "all by themselves".

"I wonder who wrote it".
TV "news" people are acting like she wrote it herself.

I doubt she could even read it.
Rec. Thanks for the link. I hope this gets the publicity it deserves - for the real writer.

10. Sarah might have wanted to look up the definition of "rogue" before putting it in her title.
I guess she can always claim it was a typo. Rouge.

1 : vagrant, tramp
2 : a dishonest or worthless person : scoundrel
3 : a mischievous person : scamp
4 : a horse inclined to shirk or misbehave
5 : an individual exhibiting a chance and usually inferior biological variation

14. more info on Lynn Vincent
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/05/21/lynn-vincent-palin-choses_n_206402.html
(this is from May)

HarperCollins announced Thursday that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has chosen the editor of an Evangelical magazine to help write her memoir.

Lynn Vincent is the features editor for WORLD magazine.

"Lynn has been WORLD's best writer of action stories ranging from shots fired in a Texas church to raging fires on California hillsides," said WORLD Editor in Chief Marvin Olasky. "She combines guts and grace, as does Sarah Palin, so the book should be outstanding."

Vincent co-wrote the book "Donkey Cons: Sex, Crime, and Corruption in the Democratic Party" with conservative author Robert Stacy McCain. She collaborated on the memoirs of art dealer Ron Hall, scandalized Christian singer Michael English, former terrorist Kamal Saleem, and Delta Force veteran Jerry Boykin.

Palin spoke to the Associated Press last week after the bookdeal was announced:

"There's been so much written about and spoken about in the mainstream media and in the anonymous blogosphere world, that this will be a wonderful, refreshing chance for me to get to tell my story, that a lot of people have asked about, unfiltered."
