Minnesota DFL chief blasts Bush ads

Minnesota DFL chairman Mike Erlandson on Friday waded into the fray over President Bush's use of Sept. 11 imagery in his campaign ads, calling them "distasteful and inappropriate."

"While the tone of the Bush ads tries to be positive, they've struck a very big chord with family members left behind," Erlandson said. "I ask the campaign not to politicize the loss of life."

His comments came a day after some victims' families and firefighters objected to shots of the World Trade Center's charred shell and firefighters removing flag-draped bodies from it.
