Pro-gay Utah gov. resigns to be ambassador

(Salt Lake City) Gary Herbert was sworn in Tuesday as Utah’s 17th governor following the resignation of Jon Huntsman, who is now the U.S. ambassador to China.

Herbert took the oath of office at the Utah Capitol about an hour after the resignation of Huntsman.

Herbert had been serving as Huntsman’s lieutenant governor.

Huntsman is a moderate Republican who was the most popular governor in state history, winning re-election in November with a record 77 percent of the vote.

You have to understand that Huntsman is a moderate while Herbert comes from the Batshit Crazy Utard wing. Huntsman chose Herbert as his running mate to appease the wing-nuts so he would get their votes. Huntsman upset a lot of people when he came out for gay rights after his election. Herbert has made it abundantly clear that he will in no way support gay rights. Straight White Mormon Males dominate the state legislature and local government.
