Source: Brazil Magazine

Arash Hejazi is the name of the doctor who tried to help Neda Agha Soltan, the Iranian woman who was shot during street protest and whose video shown on YouTube has made her into a heroine of the Iranian people's cause. In the video, the doctor is the man in white shirt who tries to revive the young woman.

It was Brazilian writer Paulo Coelho who made the revelation, this Wednesday, after he got news that Hejazi, a friend of his, had arrived safe in London after fleeing Tehran.

In his blog - http://paulocoelhoblog.com/ - the Brazilian author made public the exchange of email he had with Hejazi the last few days. In one of these messages the doctor says that he fears for his life and asks Coelho to take care of his wife and son in case anything happens to him.

Not sure if this is the right place to post seeing as it's a blog related story, but it is breaking news about this doctor's escape from Iran...

2. You're welcome, me too. Looks like they are ignoring their own constitution with regards to that

4. i am very interested to hear his story ...

i want him to give his take on what happened. Did he see the sniper? What was he doing in the location?

Mr. Hejazi - Bit of unsolicited advise. Take tons of money to give "exclusive" interview. The Brit papers will be more than happy to spare some pounds/dollars. Donate them to a good cause or even to Neda's family.

5. Fascinating. With a good news ending so far. Imagine, a doctor is missing from
his practice, possibly surgery, because of genuine fear. His patients may now know that he didn't abandon them. He was in a certain place at a certain time and those minutes might affect the rest of his life as well as his wife and child.

There was the post about doctors and intellectuals being imprisoned. Does anyone know more?
