Detainees Freed in Bermuda Say China Worse Than Gitmo
Source: Fox News

The four of the Chinese Muslims, or Uighurs, released to Bermuda from the Guantanamo Bay prison told FOX News that they are innocent, glad to be free and hold no grudges against the United States for their captivity.

"We are not terrorists," they told FOX News with the help of a translator. "We don't know what Al Qaeda is. We don't know Usama bin Laden.

The four, who range from 31 to 38 years old, also said they think life under oppressive rule in China, where they face persecution, is worse than life at Guantanamo.

The Uighurs, released this week, are staying at a guest cottage complex on the island without security or electronic monitoring, but their attorney said they will have to periodically check in with local police.

1. uh huh
Fox has to show that Gitmo really isn't all that bad and compared to some commie countries, being held in prison while innocent is actually better.

2. It's not to say that the information is not correct or true.
It still doesn't make it o.k. in light of the fact that these men insist they are terrorist.

3. In no way am I
defending Faux News, But the Chinese government has persecuted the Muslim Uighurs for ages. After 9/11 and our splendid little war on terror began, the Chinese govt was very happy to jump on the band wagon so they could further persecute these people by labeling them Islamic terrorists. (granted, there are some Uighurs who have engaged in terrorist acts against China in recent years) but mostly for separatist aims.

5. They might be enjoying their time now more than if they were
in China. They're living on a tropical island with an allowance. Although I don't think Fox would be bringing these guys up if they said anything bad about Club Gitmo.
