Snapping Into Action - * goes on the political offensive as the Democrats
http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1101040301-593494,00.html

For months, George W. Bush has opened his lucrative fund-raising speeches with the same line about where he is in the race for the presidency, telling politely chuckling audiences, "I'm just getting warmed up." Now, with his poll numbers falling—last week a survey of likely voters found him trailing Democratic front runner John Kerry 43% to 55%—he seems ready to acknowledge that a little sprinting may be in order.

<snip>

The Bush team is no longer worried that having him join the political fray this early in the season might raise the leading Democratic candidates to the level of the presidency, diluting the advantages of incumbency their boss enjoys. "They're already there," concedes an aide. So this week the Bush campaign will boost its ranks of surrogate campaigners and begin buying time for political ads that advisers say will accentuate his record and start out positive. On Monday, Bush makes his most overt political pitch yet of the 2004 campaign in a speech to Republican Governors. "It will be unmistakable," says a top adviser. "We're hitting the accelerator."

...more...

Let's just hope that since they have such a bad driver, they hit a brick wall with their lying campaign.

2. With his record
With the abysmal record * has, it seems to me that would be the last thing he'd want to run on. He's done enormous damage to this country in three years. Maybe the super rich and the fundies like his record, but the rest of us most assuredly don't.

5. Kerry put his blood in the mud and * is a coward who used his
priviledge to get ahead of 500 non filthy rich people in the Texas National guard, so he would not have to fight for the USA. If anyone is unpatriotic, its that shub.

6. In the past month, I have wondered. . .
how much BushCo's standing would increase after the SOTU, thought he might wriggle out from under scrutiny about his TANG time, and worried he would put an amiable spin to his troubles on MTP, thus boosting his numbers. In each instance, he's proved himself the bumbling boob I know him to be and public perception has continued to shift as increasing numbers of people begin to see him for what he truly is. Now, up against a wall, unable to continue to command the high ground of the Presidency, he chooses to "enter the fray" earlier than planned. I'm beginning to have every confidence he will prove an incompetent campaigner, too.

8. stay on the offensive even when debating face to face.
They level a charge we dont answer it. We level a charge. We lose when we answer the charges. We win we we level the charges and ignore their attack.

Anyone watch Face the Nation this morning? I thought the DNC chairman did a masterful job at this against the RNC chairman. Thats what we have to continue.
