Thi happened about 12 hours ago:

Gunmen opened fire Sunday on US convoy on Baghdad highway. Witnesses saw American soldiers pulling 3 foreigners out of blazing vehicle

5. I'm sure it was.
The fundies think that Iraq is the best proseletyzing opportunity since the last Crusade.

Welcome to Iraq fundies. If you think you're devoted to the cause, you've seen nothing yet. These people don't want to save you, they just want to kill you.

8. Baptist fundamentalists from New England
http://www.boston.com/dailynews/047/region/South_Kingstown_pastor_reporte:.shtml

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) A South Kingstown missionary was killed in Iraq when gunmen opened fire on his vehicle in an attack that also wounded three other New England pastors, according to a family spokesman and the daughter of one of the injured men.

John Kelley, 48, was traveling near Baghdad with three other pastors when a white sedan pulled up alongside them and opened fire, said Roland Vukic, of Charlestown, a member of Curtis Corner Church, who is serving as the family's spokesman.

<snip>

Vukic described Curtis Corner as an independent, fundamentalist Baptist church whose members regularly ''preach the Gospel'' in their communities and seek to establish new churches around the world. He said Kelley and about 10 other pastors from the New England area left on Feb. 6 to help start a church in Baghdad.
