Palin lays low as interview requests pile up
Source: Associated Press

By RACHEL D'ORO

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Gov. Sarah Palin hadn't been back home in Alaska for a full day and her staff had begun fielding requests Thursday for postelection interviews, including from Barbara Walters, Oprah Winfrey, Larry King and others.

Palin had been expected at her office in Anchorage but later notified her staff that she wouldn't be showing up after all. She stayed at her home in Wasilla, located 40 miles to the north, but was expected in her office on Friday, spokesman Bill McAllister said.

"The intensity of all the interest is amazing. Everyone wants to talk to her," he said.

Palin is coming off a whirlwind nine weeks of almost nonstop travel and campaigning since becoming Republican John McCain's vice presidential running mate in late August. McCain and Palin lost Tuesday's election to Democrats Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

2. LOL! I'd bet she goes over like a lead-filled snowshoe.
She'd be a real embarrassment to herself and the GOP - leaving viewers going WTF, whose bright idea of selecting her was it?

3. I'm thinking Palin and Todd won't be able to resist being in the spotlight and will eventually agree
to some of these interviews, under her terms, of course.

I hope she does do some, because I believe the more exposure she gets, the better the chances that she
will disappear into the background before 2012 rolls around.

8. Oh you got is soooo wrong.
I want her to be bankrolled by the fat cat Christo-supremacists/Yahoo contingent of the right wing. In hopes that they force the GOP to accept her and then we watch as Obama destroys her on his way to his 2nd term.

Sarah Palin is an endless gift to the Democratic party.

11. AP headline writer doesn't know the difference between "lie" and "lay"?
I guess it's kind of appropriate for an article about Palin, though.

13. With the vote count looking like possible fraud I think she is just waiting hoping that Stevens gets

elected so she can take his place. Lawyers need to be in AK and look at the elections because they are not adding up with the polls as most other states have (excluding GA). The Repubs should not be winning. Then again maybe Palin had been told they would make sure Stevens won so she could take his seat ya know the AIP would love her to be a Senator ya know and she said she did say she was not going back to AK ya know and gotcha. After seeing the lower 48 I could see them wanting to live mostly in say Baltimore during the year...

17. As far as I am concerned
she can keep all the damn clothes and money, if she just agrees to go away! It was everyones wanting John McCain to come on their shows the past eight years that got us stuck with him in the first place. He was able to go one these shows and put on a false persona that tricked people into thinking he was someone he was not. We do not need to the same thing to happen with this woman. No, I say let her keep all the clothes and stay up in Alaska, were we never have to hear from her again.
