Rasmussen new battlegrounds poll shows shift to Obama
Source: Rasmussen Reports

Obama now leads by seven points, 52% to 45% in Florida. A week ago the candidates were tied in the Sunshine State. Two weeks ago, McCain was up five.

In Colorado, Obama now holds a six-point advantage, 51% to 45%. Last week, Obama had a one-point edge in the state and two weeks ago McCain was narrowly ahead.

In Missouri, it’s Obama 50% McCain 47%. In mid-September, a Rasmussen Reports poll had found McCain up by five in the Show-Me State.

Obama continues to hold a narrow advantage in Virginia, 50% to 48%. That’s virtually unchanged from last week. However, last week was the first time Obama had moved ahead in this state that hasn’t voted for a Democrat since 1964.

The poll for Ohio still shows McCain ahead by 1 pt., within the margin of error.

5. According to

a lot of our independant news papers and stations, he's got a 7% lead here in OH, even some of the fox owned stations and right-wing leaning papers are supporting those numbers. I'm guessing the 1% isn't much of a big deal, but it's nice thats its going to the + side.

6. Hey Steel
I live in Middletown, OH, a steel town that has been hit harder than many places by this economy over the years. We are working hard here, though, to get out the message and the vote. I think Ohioans, even in socially conservative places where I live, are starting to see who is to blame for all of this. Hope you are doing okay in this economic environment. I think Obama will win Ohio, from what I've seen and heard working in the Obama office in this traditionally very Republican town.

9. We're ok
not great, but ok. I work for the auto industry. I'm laid off now becuase of contract talks, but should be back in the game sometime soon. I know exactly where your from. My wifes family is from that area, and she grew up in Carsile. We were just down there a few weeks ago after the windstorms hit to help clean up. Hopefully you made it through that ok.

Glad to see more ohio people chiming in on here. We're a blue state like we should be!

8. RealClearPolitics.com has Obama at 264 electoral votes w/o Colorado and Florida
With them, let's see, 9 for Coloragdo, 27 for Florida, 7 + 9 + 4 is 20, carry the 2, and I get 300. 300 from 538 leaves only 238. And that's only if McCain wins every other toss-up state. And he's behind in most of them. 300 is more than 238. 300 wins.

I've been saying for awhile now, McCain has to win both Ohio and Florida to win. If he loses either, he loses the whole shebang. If he loses both, it's an electoral landslide.

I feel a prediction coming on: Obama in an electoral landslide! He wins by around 200 electoral votes. Yeah, I said it. Something like 369 to 169.

RealClearPolitics.com also reports McCain's lead in Georgia has slipped from solid to just leaning. McCain's lead is slipping in Georgia! When's the last time a Democrat threatened to take Georgia? Jimmy Carter?
