Huntington, WV (HNN) A documentary by Michael Moore did not air Monday night, September 29, as scheduled on Comcast Public Access. In the words of Richard Bartram, who has been coordinating the evening two hour block, only Comcast knows.

Bartram stated that he disc of Slacker Uprising provided to Comcast was perfectly within FCC language restrictions (four words were excised), I had a backup disc ready to air in the event there was technical problems with the original.

This is not the first time Comcast has shown a slacker attitude toward the Public Access programming on Channel 20. It happened on numerous occasions, once when On the Rivers Edge was scheduled.

Fahrenhype 9/11 or one of those other anti-Moore hatchet jobs? It wouldn't surprise me.

8. He also released it as a bittorrent
You can download it legally this way since he released it. You won't be breaking any laws, go get it! Even better, burn several copies and pass them out!

31. It seems he changed his mind: "Michael Moore Sends Lawyers To Stop Slacker Uprising Sharing"
By Josh Tyler: 2008-10-03 03:07:52

Michael Moore Sends Lawyers To Stop Slacker Uprising Sharing When filmmaker Michael Moore announced that his new movie Slacker Uprising would be released exclusively online, he not only refused to charge for it, but encouraged his fans to feel free to pirate it. In fact, he told them to email it, burn it, and share it with anyone and everyone. Unfortunately, those were just words. Words he said and didnt mean.

5. Comcast has partnered with AIB
http://aibtv.com /

I'm presently investigating the possibility of a lawsuit against them for violation of the Establishment Clause.

When they do the required tests of the broadcasting system, or "Amber Alerts", the signal defaults to a Christian prayer service channel for a short time before returning to chosen programming.

Comcast has become another propaganda-arm of the coup.

17. Has this phenomenon been documented?
I tried looking up ' comcast amber alert prayer ' on Google and didn't get anything that looked relevant.

What exactly happens during the Amber alert? Does the screen just flash to the prayer channel for a couple seconds or does it go through several minutes of religious programming?

20. Yes, it flashes to a Christian channel
Edited on Tue Sep-30-08 01:15 PM by Dogtown
for up to 30 seconds or so.

It cycles, may not happen for a month or so and the be activated for some time.

This occurs after "Amber Alerts" or after the required periodic "test" of the emergency broadcast system. Both clearly government functions, both tied in pavlovian fashion to religious programming.

I'm not aware of any online discussion of this. i have written the ACLU and SPLC asking if they are interested in representing me. If I get any activity, I'll post it here.

Go to your iTunes store and then click on Power Search at the top left. Search for Slacker (title) and Michael Moore (artist). It took me about 11 minutes to download...

10. Comcast wouldn't show any liberal/progressive programming
in my area, but they had no trouble showing tap-dance recitals by preschool children -- repeatedly. So I had to switch to Dish Network in order to receive shows like Democracy Now (on Free Speech TV and Link TV)

16. Comcast is the same cable company that was...
traffic-shaping and blocking certain internet traffic wrt their broadband customers.

When they were called on it, they denied they were doing it. Then a college kid provided proof they were doing it.

At which point, they acknowledged "some load balancing for optimal network performance" as they called it. :eyes:

The FCC has already rapped them for that and this might spark another look into their doings.

24. That is so totally wrong..a cable provider intercepting what is shown by the stations that it
provides to its viewers!!! There is no way that is legal. I wonder if the Comcast subscribers could start a class action suite against them? I am sure this is the first, or the last time they will do this kind of thing.
