McCain takes air out of tire pressure debate
Source: Reuters

HUNTINGTON, W. Va - Republican John McCain appeared to back down on Tuesday in his dispute with his opponent Barack Obama over tire pressure.

Snip
The surprise came during a telephone town hall meeting McCain held on Tuesday with voters in Pennsylvania.

“Obama said a couple of days ago says we all should inflate our tires. I don’t disagree with that. The American Automobile Association strongly recommends it,” McCain said.

But he kept up his broad criticism of Obama on energy: “I … don’t think that that (inflating tires) is a way to become energy independent.”

The United States’ energy challenges will be a central factor in the months leading up to the election. But when it comes to how far to inflate your tires, the air seems to have gone out of the dispute.

The left side of John McCain's brain doesn't know what the right side of John McCain's brain is doing, which amounts to a terribly ran campaign. How can this man believe that he could be President?

Time to face reality. Americans are idiots. mccain will be president a year from now, I guarantee it! Might as well start preparing now.

2. It wasn't a "debate" - what Obama said was correct, and lieing knee-jerky Rs tried
to pretend otherwise. McCain is continuing the deliberate dishonesty if he's claiming that Obama equated tire-pumping with energy independence...

14. That's a good way to put it - the Rs are flailing around and spinning in circles
They have no message or ideas or principles to offer, so they set up strawmen and then get beaten up by those strawmen. It's almost sad...

5. it's the Smear part of McGOP's smear and fear tactics
granted properly inflated tires, 55mph speed limit and tune-ups alone won't solve the problem - but it helps curb fuel consumption and would do more than mccain's proposed 'tax holiday'

just like bush - McCain blew an opportunity to call on americans to be part of the solution. Essentially, he's telling us "don't worry - go shopping" - just like bush

ridicule of this nature is the only tool they have, it's the tool of losers

7. I still think we should let air out to republicons tires
Let them use more gasoline at $4.00 gallon. Maybe they will figure it out someday.

9. McCain is so old, when he started driving cars had solid rubber tires
McCain said "That stupid Obama, everybody knows you can't put air in tires!"

Then McCain got into his golf cart and drove back to his mansion with the left turn blinker on the the whole way.
