China admits taking, burying US POW from Korea
Source: AP

WASHINGTON - After decades of denials, the Chinese have acknowledged burying an American prisoner of war in China, telling the U.S. that a teenage soldier captured in the Korean War died a week after he "became mentally ill," according to documents provided to The Associated Press.

China had long insisted that all POW questions were answered at the conclusion of the war in 1953 and that no Americans were moved to Chinese territory from North Korea. The little-known case of Army Sgt. Richard G. Desautels, of Shoreham, Vt., opens another chapter in this story and raises the possibility that new details concerning the fate of other POWs may eventually surface.

Chinese authorities gave Pentagon officials intriguing new details about Desautels in a March 2003 meeting in Beijing, saying they had found "a complete record of 9-10 pages" in classified archives.

Until now, this information had been kept quiet; a Pentagon spokesman said it was intended only for Desautels' family members. The details were provided to Desautels' brother, Rolland, who passed them to a POW-MIA advocacy group, the National Alliance of Families, which gave them to AP this week.

3. China was on the right side in that war.
That's a fact. Had the US not intervened in 1950, Koreans would have decided their fate on their own terms, free from foreign interference. China only intervened after the US was attacking China across the Sino-Korean border as its armed forces utterly destroyed Korea, north and south.

6. North Korea was supported and controlled by the Soviets and the Chinese
Not exactly "free from foreign interference." But don't let that bother you, go back to reading the thoughts of Stalin.

5. Now China and Amerika are sister nations ruled by the same form of government, essentially
Now WE torture people to death and blame the victims.

The circle closes, and not in a good way.

9. Look around. Iti's all around you. I call everything that came before 2000 America
with a 'c'.

Everything after 12/12/200, I call Amerika with a 'k'.

I really don't care of I seem glib to you, I long ago stopped caring what others think. But I do have my reasons and keep to them carefully.

Why do I do this? For the same reason I think we need a new flag and a new national anthem. Becuase, IMHO, it disgraces the Old American Republic (1776-2000, RIP) to use the old ones to describe this new nation the Bushies have forged/are forging.

This does not preclude the restoration of the Old American Republic. Step #1, elect Obama, if such things are still possible given the corrupted, degraded nature of our voting and media syatems (ESPECIALLY CABLE TV MEDIA). Even then, there is much to be done to restore the System of Checks and Balances as well as the Constitution and Bill of Rights to health and vigor.

We can agree to disagree, that's fine. You can think me just another glib, thoughtless, brainless asshole playing juvenile word games, but I am not.

You can think me some unhygienic hippie sitting around in a cloud of patchouli and stoned to the bejeezus, but I am not. In fact, I have served the Armed Forces of the Old USA proudly.

I have chose my monniker carefully. Have you ever read any of the original Tom Paine? If not...you should. EVERYBODY in this nation should be required to extensively read the works of the Founding Fathers in HS, IMHO.

There's more I can say, but I won't. Either you continue to think the same of me, in which case you will want to put me on ignore as soon as possible, or I have given you food for thought.
