Bush to Raise Money for McCain
Source: The Washington Post

President Bush is hitting the fundraising circuit for Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), the White House announced yesterday. The president will be featured at three McCain campaign fundraisers in Arizona and Utah next week. The events will be closed to the media, but the White House told reporters that there could be a joint public appearance.

1. Is that a surprise?
Bush takes our tax dollars and uses it for his own political gain. DA!!

2. This should be fun to watch... If McCain was smart, he would decline this...
This is going to tie him closer to Bush and set up serious ammo for Obama to use in the campaign.

3. Good luck with that. It's great for us that they are campaigning together-
makes it even easier for the Dems to stay on track with the fact that electing McCain will be more of the same. Hope they travel around together for the next 5 months in fact! As for how successful they will be in raising funds--- my guess- not so much. Good think McShame has a rich wife. He's going to need her money.

6. Damnola
Got a letter yesterday from the President. How the hell I got on that list, I'll never know. Wanted a few dollars for McSame and the others. Even sent me one of those nice return envelopes with no postage needed. It did have a little note on it saying if I did add a stamp, It'd really help out.
Now as I understand it, the post office computer weights that mail, then charges the GOP per weight. Found me a nice letter size bar of steel and sent it off.

7. I think this is good news! Tyeing bush and McCain together will
Edited on Sat May-24-08 09:26 AM by rasputin1952
help to tarnish the already dented McCain run for the office. AZ and Utah...I guess this shows who is the front-runner for VP...;)

Nothing like having the most unpopular president in history stump for cash, I'd be surprised if this didn't drive donors away...:D

14. But McCain will speak in other venues and distance himself from Bush.

It's the McCain flip-flop express, dontcha know?

And the brainless media gerbils will spin this as McCain being a "maverick."

17. I don't think people are going to buy into that again...
but there are always a few that think the GOP can do no wrong, regardless of how they get beaten about by them year after year.

McCain has about as much chance of becomeing president as I do...he will be exposed as a complete fraud, MSM will not be abole to cover it up. Once the first D vs R debate hits the airwaves, it should all be over.

10. It doesn't make any sense
that the media is not invited. I thought the whole idea behind campaigning is to get the message out.

11. OOOOH what a good idea!!!
That McCain has a keen mind, like a razor. If I were running for office, I would want the guy with the 25% approval rating campaining for me too.

This is why I can never be a politician. I am just not smart enough to think of good ideas like this.

15. Bush will be appearing
at fund raising events in private, closed to the media places. Bush in private could be the best fundraiser from the rich and corporation party faithful McCain could get. As to a public vote-getting event with Bush, I will be glad to give odds.

16. you think they'll set a record this time?
I read earlier that they couldn't even fill the convention center in McCain's home state and canceled the venue. They blamed it on possible protesters at the event. It is now a private function where I imagine positions in the McCain administration will be bought and sold, if they happen to be able to steal another election.
