BAGHDAD: A detainee died Wednesday after being transported to a coalition medical facility, the U.S. military said.

The detainee was taken to the facility on Tuesday for medical assistance and died the next day, according to a statement. The cause of death was under investigation.

The brief statement provided no other details and did not give a location for the death, but it was released by the U.S. military in western Iraq.
