1. Tx. and California seem to have a disproportionate number, even
Edited on Sat Jan-17-04 08:07 AM by Dover
if you factor in the increased size/pop. of these two states.

And four more added to this dreadful list (two of them from Tx. I think) in the latest bombings.

12. Think "Where are the most Hispanics"
or as Victor Davis HANSON, CHEENEE's guru, named the region: "Mexifornia". Look at one of the other higher ones, Michigan.

15. Lots of Tx,Fla,Ca in the military-I was surprised by the ONE from WV
Edited on Sat Jan-17-04 10:40 AM by underpants
WV traditionally has a disproportionate (to population) number serving and being casualties. A lot of that is the opportunities that the military offers and the "get out" thinking. I am not bagging on WV my mother and whole family are from there.

13 from Virginia surprised me too but that could include the large number of military in Hampton Roads. I don't know if that is based on where they live (you can change residence officially when you re-enlist) or where they are originally from.

8. Kinda sick??? Our kids dying for Nothing? ya thats pretty damned sick
and I heard another person say the same thing you said...
reality check! these are REAL PEOPLE lying in the sand, crying, holding their friends hands as they bleed to death, REAL human beings DEAD or WOUNDED for nothing
Being sent like sheep to slaughter, dying for the wealthy thats all
The other person who told me this "oh thats too traumatic for people to see" was in her own major denial...and I used to think she was an intelligent woman...but her denial was based on the fact that her husband works for a large oil company..and betcha a dime to a dollar all shes thinking about is money
Ever see your loved one die? I did...I had to identify a body , hold them and say goodbye to them after he was thrown 300 feet in a chemical explosion and he was only 36...
Ya its "sick" when that happens but thats what happens when you work somewhere but that doesnt lessen the pain of it and the truth.
However, what is SICK is that we have a corporate press that refuses to show the truth of what horrors our kids are in over there
and the reasons? OIL AND GREED
their deaths?
for NOTHING
real human beings....19 year olds who lie there and cry and know they will NEVER SEE THEIR FAMILIES AGAIN as they die...
reality check!
for NOTHING..murdered by the bUsh family and their whole evil lot of monsters...thats who is murdering them.

9. "I can't hear you"
For some reason I envision you with your hands up to your ears chanting "La la la la la" and/or "I can't hear you" over and over and over again...

Speaking of grisly photographs: did I miss your objections to the photographs of Saddam's dead sons plastered all over the new media?

<sarcasm>

Yes, for heaven's sake, let's avoid anything at all that would draw attention to the 500 dead American soldiers (so far)... we wouldn't want to waste our "beautiful minds" on that sort of thing, now, would we?

</sarcasm>

7. Its long overdue we see some real facts!!
Edited on Sat Jan-17-04 09:04 AM by Mari333
and Photos of the HELL the kids are going through over there and the HELL the civilians are going thru..including the coffins, the funerals, and coverage of the families as they suffer thru the nightmare of their kids dying for NOTHING>>>>>>>>>NOTHING
in the meantime, we wait as my stepson, my husbands son, is readied for his year ( or more) in Iraq..
Heres what it boils down to...the *bush Cabal thinks the military kids are disposable...meaningless garbage that can be tossed..
they have NO respect for anything but power.
To throw our loved ones in harms way in a war based on lies? Why cant I sue the bastards myself as throwing MY stepson into this for NOTHING?
The facts are OUT THERE, if someone gave a shit in the Fed Govt the whole bUsh Cabal would be frog marched out of the WH..
Except for a few people, it seems no one cares.

edit to add: OH YES DONT FORGET....BUSH HAS TO ATTEND 2000 DOLLAR A PLATE DINNERS WHILE OUR KIDS ARE BLOWN TO PIECES FOR HIS FRIENDS.
IN THE MEANTIME, THERES A BLACKOUT ON THEIR DEATHS AND FUNERALS VIA CORPORATE MEDIA WHO DOESNT CARE
THE BLOOD IS ON THEIR HANDS.

16. YES
it's sad- it's tragic- but unless people start paying attention they will never really understand how important it is to STOP this insanity-

Our sunday paper (the Concord Monitor) (NH) ran photo's of all the soldiers who had died a few weeks ago- it was SO worthwile- depressing and moving- there are faces, and lives (or lives cut short) behind each one of the numbers, and names- they aren't just plastic figures on a gameboard, or digital images on some computer screen-

the truth hurts- but pain is supposed to get our attention, and encourage a change of course-

denial is deadly-

I am so sorry for all of the losses.

18. To be a bit of an acturist
u.s. Census Bureau population estimates by State:
http://eire.census.gov/popest/data/states/tables/NST-EST2003-01.php

what you really need is how many troops from each State are serving in Iraq (as a full year from start of invaison is not up yet probably about 300x the death figure)

19. Fort Carson, Colorado has lost about 30 troops....
But many of those are from other states and that is what is depicted in the stats, just for clarification.
