U.S. weapons hunter David Kay won't return to Iraq - source
http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/N15292708.htm

WASHINGTON, Jan 15 (Reuters) - David Kay, the chief U.S. weapons hunter in Iraq, has told the CIA he will not return to his post, a U.S. government source said on Thursday, a move that critics could seize upon as a sign that he has given up hope of finding banned arms.

"He has told the DCI (Director of Central Intelligence George Tenet) that he doesn't want to go back, they have been trying to get him to stay," the source told Reuters on condition of anonymity.

It was unclear whether the CIA had had any success in persuading Kay, who came back to the United States for the Christmas holidays, to stay on the job, the source said.

A CIA spokesman declined to comment. Kay, reached earlier this week, also declined to comment and referred questions about his status to the CIA.

1. Heard this a few days ago but
do not remember where. The report even said that Kay would not even be giving a final report.

3. What was that? $600 million?
And think: just a few more months was all UNMOVIC wanted to certify Iraq free of WMD. But nuh uh. "Time's up."

But of course, we know WMD was a MacGuffin. The war was never about the weapons. It was about occupation.

What's wrong Davey, can't find your courage to get on TV and tell the
world there's nothing there. You sure pounded the screen when you
were pushing for the job.

That Roger Whittaker guy who used to sell soft pop records late at night on tv.

I wish I had placed a big fat bet on "No Can Do" on this clown finding anything except a huge government check for his efforts.
