FBI 'covers up' file exposing nuclear secrets theft(Sibel Edmonds)
Edited on Sat Jan-19-08 07:24 PM by cal04
Source: The Sunday Times

The FBI has been accused of covering up a file detailing government dealings with a network stealing nuclear secrets

THE FBI has been accused of covering up a key case file detailing evidence against corrupt government officials and their dealings with a network stealing nuclear secrets.

The assertion follows allegations made in The Sunday Times two weeks ago by Sibel Edmonds, an FBI whistleblower, who worked on the agency’s investigation of the network.

Edmonds, a 37-year-old former Turkish language translator, listened into hundreds of sensitive intercepted conversations while based at the agency’s Washington field office.

(snip)
One of the documents relating to the case was marked 203A-WF-210023. Last week, however, the FBI responded to a freedom of information request for a file of exactly the same number by claiming that it did not exist. But The Sunday Times has obtained a document signed by an FBI official showing the existence of the file.

allegations – many of which corroborate the information that Edmonds later made public.
The FOIA was NOT made by Edmonds, it was Liberty Coalition, acting on a tip-off it received from an anonymous correspondent.

13. Wow not only is our white house completely corrupt but now this...
First who are the one's the FBI is covering and why? Second, since allegations came out two weeks ago why wasn't it reported on CNN or MSNBC or even god forbid Faux News...well i know the answer to that one. The MSM is the biggest P.O.S. the world has ever had to lay witness to. This has gotten me so angry I need to see a doctor about high blood pressure. Dam I must be one of the 43 million americans without health insurance. GAHHH I can't wait for 1/20/09 and the fight that follows.

16. Yeah - you'd think Brewter Jennings as a CIA front
being outed to this network would be a slightly important detail of interest to the American MSM

from the article:
The anonymous letter names a high-level government official who was allegedly secretly recorded speaking to an official at the Turkish embassy between August and December 2001.

It claims the government official warned a Turkish member of the network that they should not deal with a company called Brewster Jennings because it was a CIA front company investigating the nuclear black market. The official’s warning came two years before Brewster Jennings was publicly outed when one of its staff, Valerie Plame, was revealed to be a CIA agent in a case that became a cause célèbre in the US.

i was just trying to emphasize that we arent dealing with allegations here. poor sibel must go out of her mind everytime she hears that - she knows that the press, and the courts and the FBI all have PROOF that this is true.

24. this literally trumps all our other discussions doesn't it?
this story is the one that could imprison the bastards. I am no 'conspiracy nut' all those I love the Gibson/Roberts film about them, but I believe that our gov't intentionally LET 9/11 happen, and gave away these secrets, to cause unrest, so our military would have to go "fix" the problem by killing off hundreds of thousands of Muslims and lining the pockets of the companies supplying the war, in the process.

Yeah, I think a simple discussion about it (I know Keith has discussed her a little if I'm not mistaken) on the nightly news or in the NYT or LAT would be nice... I mean, they ARE supposed to be news agencies... oh that's right, when giant organizations are allowed to purchase news companies, then we the people are screwed - we need to make them be off limits for ownership by multimedia/giant organizations.

20. So what?
It's the "London" Times... the rest of the world could vanish tonight and the media in this country wouldn't report it tomorrow unless they were ordered to.

As a matter of fact, I'm very surprised the media in UK are exposing a crime of this magnitude.

We live in very strange times. Things are coming to a head. It's as though Alice in Wonderland, married Luke Skywalker, who's children where Hobbits that grew-up on Shakespeare, were drunk and on steroids.

I'm not getting excited until I see not only obvious criminals are executed, but, enablers like every so-called investigative journalists that remained silent when so many obvious crimes have been committed.

Silence emanating from this countries M$M is telling.

Unless someone loses it and pulls a Rosey O'Donnell and goes all the movie "Network" on us, we're not going to hear any truth here and until we do it doesn't matter.

Waxman has to hold public hearings now - no not now - yesterday! Everyone should call his - no - not call - show-up! at his office and demand he do what WE TELL HIM TO DO!!!

Unless he's forgotten ... he WORKS FOR US!!!

Times Online drops the other shoe on the Turkish espionage ring...

Well, they have balls - that is all I can say. Here is the latest from the Times:

(snip)
This government official is alleged to have been Marc Grossman. Now, if you followed the CIA leak case then the "Grossman memo" should right about now make you sit up and take note.

At the time of the Libby trial, I had sent an email outlining the allegations to Fitzgerald's office. If these allegations are true - and we have no reason to doubt them - then not only was Mrs. Wilson exposed publicly by the Bush administration, but the cover company she was using was allegedly also exposed to a very specific black market network. In other words, a Clinton administration official and the entire top level of the Bush administration blew the cover of a CIA operation.

Grossman is alleged to have blown it for his corporate clients, while the Bush administration did it for a lot less: retribution, retaliation, politics. But since Grossman stayed on after the Clinton administration, he was clearly given the "loyal Bushie" test and seemingly passed.

I have to ask again, why does the Sunday Times not name him?

http://www.atlargely.com/2008/01/times-online-dr.html

Existence of FBI Case Number, Described in Anonymous Letter Obtained by The BRAD BLOG, Corroborated by Paper
Letter Describes Senior State Dept. Official Marc Grossman as Tipping off Turkish Embassy to Valerie Plame Wilson's 'Brewster Jennings' Counter-Proliferation Operation...
(snip)
The BRAD BLOG had obtained a copy of the anonymous letter some weeks ago, along with the FBI's denial of the existence of related information via the FOIA request. We've been in touch with the Sunday Times over the past week, as this story has been developing.

We have yet to publish the letter in full, however, as we have been unable to independently corroborate a number of allegations made in the letter.

39. British libel law is possibly the reason they do not name him.
Link here:http://www-cs-education.stanford.edu/class/cs201/Projects/defamation-and-the-internet/sections/worldwide/britain.html

Essentially the rule is pro plaintiff. It is strange that The Times keeps readjusting their headlines and stories after posting such shocking news. They did the same two weeks ago on the initial breaking story. They cut out some info and added a time line of Pakistan's acquisition of nuclear technology instead.
