Senior Clinton adviser faces N.H. drunken driving charge
Source: AP

NASHUA, N.H. (AP) - A senior adviser to Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton is in legal hot water.

Police in Nashua, New Hampshire, say Sidney Blumenthal was arrested and charged with aggravated drunken driving a day before the New Hampshire primary. Police say Blumenthal was arrested early Monday after an officer pulled over a car traveling 70 in a 30-mile-per-hour zone. Blumenthal is a journalist and former White House adviser to President Bill Clinton. He's now serving as an unpaid adviser on Hillary Clinton's campaign.

Blumenthal spent about four hours in jail. He'll be arraigned later this month.

4. Guilt by association, obviously.
What an assinine thing for Blumenthal (or anyone) to do. Is this all over Fox?

9. So true
Anything these advisors do is relevant during campaign season. They shouldn't even be jay walking until after it's over.

7. He's just posting news...
Give him a break. He's not railing against Hillary, simply providing a link to late breaking news...I for one am glad, I get a majority of my news from DU.

8. Sorry to hear this. Sydney is one of the best people in the Clinton camp.
Unlike Penn, Carville, tMac et al, Sydney has a real loyalty and humor.
Glad it wasn't worse, and hope he can stay on.

10. Next time he gets wrecked...
...he can do it in your neighborhood. Maybe then you'll take it a bit more seriously.

11. I just expressed a bit of sympathy. That means I don't take drunk driving seriously. Ok.
He got arrested, stayed in for 4 hours, and will go through the legal process.
No whining there. What the hell was he doing drunk in the morning? Oy.
I also said he is one of the better people in Clinton camp - just an opinion.

nowhere did I say or imply that driving "wrecked" was not serious.(and I don't know what his Blood alcohol level was, do you?)
He was going too fast, 70 in a 30.
Good enough?

Why the snark, BlueDog-
Is it because he is Hillarite and you Obamaphile?

Peace.

12. It's okay, the president did it.
And lied about it too.

So it's no problem. Cheney has DUIs as well. The thugs can't say ANYTHING.

13. Sorry to see this. I like Sidney. Still driving 70 in a 30 intoxicated is not a good thing.
Thank goodness no one got hurt.

I hope he gets help. This is a sad personal story and has nothing to do with politics.
