Huckabee’s son treated after car crash
Source: CNN

(CNN) — Mike Huckabee's campaign said his oldest son, John Mark, was treated at a hospital and released after being injured in a car accident leaving Iowa after the caucuses, the Republican’s campaign said.

The campaign said the former Arkansas governor and his wife, Janet, campaigning in New Hampshire following his victory in the Iowa caucuses Thursday, spoke with their son while he was in the hospital in Des Moines.

"Janet and I are relieved that John Mark is all right," Huckabee said. "He will be stiff and sore from the accident, but doctors assured us he sustained no serious injuries."

The younger Huckabee had been in Iowa to help his father campaign, was traveling home to Arkansas with family friends David and Debbie Haak of Texarkana, Arkansas, when the accident occurred Friday morning, the campaign said in a statement.

2. Wrong son,

but I thought the same thing when I saw the headline. The gun toting dog torturer is David, this one isn't notorious for anything.

20. ...isn't notorious for anything....YET
Give him a few months. Remember, he's a republicon. 'nuff said. Just be patient and the notorious deviant -- no matter what flavor his perverisons -- will tumble out of the seemingly neat closet...

4. John Mark
Common enough name I guess, but I find myself wondering if the Reverend and the Mrs. had enough male offspring to cycle through all the apostles' names (less Judas, of course).

6. Judas was kicked out of the apostolic group. From Acts of the Apostles ch. 1
Matthias Chosen to Replace Judas

12Then they returned to Jerusalem from the hill called the Mount of Olives, a Sabbath day's walk from the city. 13When they arrived, they went upstairs to the room where they were staying. Those present were Peter, John, James and Andrew; Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew; James son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James. 14They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.
15In those days Peter stood up among the believers (a group numbering about a hundred and twenty) 16and said, "Brothers, the Scripture had to be fulfilled which the Holy Spirit spoke long ago through the mouth of David concerning Judas, who served as guide for those who arrested Jesus— 17he was one of our number and shared in this ministry."

18(With the reward he got for his wickedness, Judas bought a field; there he fell headlong, his body burst open and all his intestines spilled out. 19Everyone in Jerusalem heard about this, so they called that field in their language Akeldama, that is, Field of Blood.)

20"For," said Peter, "it is written in the book of Psalms,
" 'May his place be deserted;
let there be no one to dwell in it,' and,
" 'May another take his place of leadership.' 21Therefore it is necessary to choose one of the men who have been with us the whole time the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, 22beginning from John's baptism to the time when Jesus was taken up from us. For one of these must become a witness with us of his resurrection."

23So they proposed two men: Joseph called Barsabbas (also known as Justus) and Matthias. 24Then they prayed, "Lord, you know everyone's heart. Show us which of these two you have chosen 25to take over this apostolic ministry, which Judas left to go where he belongs." 26Then they cast lots, and the lot fell to Matthias; so he was added to the eleven apostles.

14. He does both, actually.
In Matthew 27, he hangs himself. In Acts 1, he explodes in a field.

12. It looks like Mr. Huckabee has
a troubled son. A troubled family? We'll find out.

I've read that harsh, fundamentalist parents often get troubled children who act out in all kinds of ways. Like killing an innocent stray dog who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Maiming and killing a defenceless animal is indicative of big problems under the surface.

I've read, in fact, that ministers' daughters are notorious for out of control behavior, drug issues & other things.

Are you SURE you want to be in the lime light Mr. Huckabee?

13. I, for one,
as a parent, am glad the young man is okay. His dad is a freak but I wouldn't wish, celebrate, or make fun of the serious injury, or death, of anyone's child.

Seems as if there is a lot of "Schadenfreude", which does not do anybody any good.

15. sounds like a bizarre accident
the article is a little vague; sounds like both cars were on an entrance ramp, and the other driver tried to pass on Huckabee's passenger side? If that's what happened, I'm not surprised the other driver got a citation; I'm a little more surprised he wasn't arrested for dangerous driving.

Huckabee's a theocratic loon, but he's not the Smiler. Not by a long shot.
