It's turning into a very happy Hanukkah for the Muslim good Samaritan who is credited with saving a Brooklyn college student from a gang of alleged Jew-bashing goons.

A stunned Hassan Askari, 20, was handed a check for $5,000 by legal eagle Benjamin Brafman, who was touched by Askari's subway heroics.

"Wow. That's amazing. Oh, wow," said Askari, an accounting student.

"That's going to help my college so, so much. I'm at a loss for words."

Askari works two jobs as a waiter to pay his way through Berkeley College in Manhattan.

8. I checked the Freeper response

I'm happy to say that many of the Freepers found Askari's bravery inspiring and were appreciative that a Muslim person came to the aid of Jews.

Of course, this story undercuts the popular Freeper belief that all Muslims are horrible people who want to kill everyone, especially Jews. As a result, many Freepers (and one would be bad enough) refused to believe this story at first. When it became impossible to deny, some of them tried to claim that the attackers were Muslim (they weren't). No worries, though, this incident will fade quickly from their tiny brains as they go back to obsessing over everything posted at Frontpage Magazine and Jihad Watch.

One more thing: one of the attackers apparently had a Jesus tatoo, which lead at least one Freeper to declare that "this is probably an illegal immigration issue." This comment was undoubtedly brought about because many Mexican men have Catholic-oriented tattoos. I don't think Joseph Jirovec is Mexican, however. :eyes:

10. This shows that is spite of being ruled by Arch-Criminals and their Enablers

Some of that old American Spirit remains.

The only problem is history shows, that is not always enough when faced with the determination of the Bushies, like the Nazis before them, to utterly destroy the Republic that came before them.

Sadly (and I hope that I am proven wrong on this) the millions of Americans that are Loyal to America and our founding principles, as well as simple human decency, will just stagger onward when the Busies get "closer to their Final Solutions", whatever they turn out to be no one can say, and accustom themselves, as we are all now accustomed "to living with clenched teeth".

Further, and I hate to be a killjoy here because this truly is a heartening and hopeful story, I am forced to take note that, of all the people on that train, the only one to leap in was a member of another Bushie-hated subgroup, the Muslims.

So, maybe this is not so hopeful, becase it's like a Gypsy jumping in to help some Jews fight off some Nazis while the other Good Germans did what they always do...NOTHING.

But whatever the underlying issues and considerations, one thing stands above all else...this was a noble effort by a good person to stop some Bushie Evil.

A small defeat, in other words, in the Sea of Victories enjoyed in Bill O'Reilly's fabricated "War on Christmas".
