US Navy ships drop HK visit plan
Source: BBC

"The US Navy says Chinese approval for its vessels to enter Hong Kong for the Thanksgiving holiday has come too late.

The navy said the ships had already left the area, after China initially refused their request to dock.

Families of many of the crew members had flown out to Hong Kong to spend the holiday with their loved ones. "

3. That's a good analogy!
Sucks for those families that flew to Hong Kong to meet their Sailors and Marines, though.

Nice Diplomacy Condi!

9. Huh? What? Should Condi tell the Dalai Lama to go fuck himself to make them happy?
I mean, really--that's what this is all about. That medal the DL got, AND the pic of Monkey and the DL.

Bush poked China in the eye with the DL, and they didn't like it.

They pulled this crap, but waited too long to rescind. Hey, we can't be wasting fuel steaming around in circles.

If the military wanted to be nice, they'd find a reason to send a log flight to HK (maybe an embassy run, or something, with a nice, big, EMPTY aircraft), and then offer "Space A" opportunities to those folks who are in HK to wherever the vessels are gonna end up.

Oooooooooooooooh....You're my BEST friend!!!!!!!!!!!!

6. This was supposed to be the very last Hong Kong visit for the USS Kitty Hawk
The aircraft carrier is supposed to be decommissioned next year.

What an embarrassment.

11. hmmm...
maybe that was the point. Maybe they knew it was last time and wanted to stick it to the U.S. on this issue.
