Zimbabwe 'ready for UK invasion'
Source: BBC News

The Zimbabwean government has accused the UK of plotting an invasion and considering assassinations of the country's political leadership.

Presidential spokesman George Charamba said Harare remained ready to defend itself against the "sinister threats".

He was responding to comments by a former British general Lord Guthrie in a UK newspaper a week ago.

Lord Guthrie recalled advising the ex-Prime Minister Tony Blair against invading Zimbabwe.

6. Before Mugabe, the tiny, but very wealthy, Anglo-Saxon minority owned 75% of the arable land
Now they no longer do, because of land reform. That is the reason why the UK hates Zimbabwe - it is another "rebellious colony."

7. BUZZ! - - Wrong! the "tiny, but very wealthy, Anglo-Saxon minority" still does!

Rhodesia was the "rebellious colony" and it was the whites who rebelled against the British when Ian Smith had a temper-tantrum.

Mugabe is nothing more than a stooge for the wealthiest Rhodesians who keep him in power and the army paid in exchange for being left alone. The people who were run off the land were small time white farmers, and black farmers not loyal to ZANU-PF.

The two largest land owners in Zimbabwe today are Nicholas van Hoogstraten and The Davy Family, also known as the largest land owners in Rhodesia. While the Davy family has theoretically given up land on paper, there are "war veterans" on patrol to make sure the European Safari tourists are not disturbed in any way by the crisis in Zimbabwe or the locals who might hunt the game for food. In fact if a Zimbabwean were to go hunting on the Davy's lands Mugabes "war veterans" will shoot them on the spot.

And in the greatest irony, Hoogstraten has been on the RECEIVING end of land reform.

Also, look online for pictures of Mugabes new "White House" it is half 1600 Penn. Ave, half Gene Simmons house on Cribs.

8. Your understanding of this situation is poor at best.
Offensive at worst.

Mugabe and the Zanu-PF are racist thieving murderous thugs and dictators.

Mugabe is a mass murderer and should be sent to De Hague.

Look up Gukurahundi.

then freeze the international assets of his Rhodesian bagmen, The Davy family, The Bredenkamp family and Nicholas Hoogstraten. Hoogstraten for all practical purposes is the tresury of Zimbabwe.

3. *IF* there was an invasion, it should be South Africa.
Edited on Sun Nov-18-07 08:46 PM by roamer65
But the best thing, of course, would be for the Zimbabwe people to step up and force Mugabe out of power. Zimbabwe is starting to remind me of Cambodia under the Khmer Rouge.

4. South Africa is in a tough spot,
Any pressure they would apply to Zimbabwe will blow back in the face in the form of more refugees and their already breaking under the strain of the Zimbabwean refugees pouring over their borders.
