Americans see Iran greatest threat to world stability: poll
Source: AFP

WASHINGTON (AFP) — People in the United States see Iran as by far the greatest threat to world stability, with China a distant second, according to a Gallup poll released Wednesday.

With tensions rising between Washington and Tehran amid comments from US leaders that Iran risks being attacked over its alleged nuclear weapons program, more Americans also said they backed tighter sanctions on the Iran regime than were opposed.

But a large majority said they don't know enough about the situation to give an opinion about sanctions.

The Gallup poll of 1,000 adults, carried out over October 25-28, showed 35 percent of people see Iran as the biggest threat to world stability.

...

But while half of Republicans ranked Iran the biggest threat, and 18 percent cited China, only 26 percent of Democrats cited Iran first, and 22 percent cited China.

and children are text messaging Chris Hanson's shills at a record breaking clip, and camel toes are out numbering real camels.

3. Was the poll complete?
Did they include "Bush's United States" as a possible greatest threat to world stability?

8. That name should have been first on the list. As it is, apparently, they did their poll,
then released the results for spinners to turn into newsstories, in order to convince gullible Americans that Iran is really a far greater threat than they imagined.

Case of polling firms doing the world of Bush's propagandists.

4. For over a year, every TV Channel has been carrying stories
about BIG Bad Dangerous Iran. Every Christian Network(TV) have
stories proclaiming Ahmadenjahd the Next Hitler. If not Hitler
he is the Anti-Christ.

Faux has been a steady sounding blast of warning on Iran.

It would be surprising if the Polls indicated something different.

6. Evidently, KoolAid is better drank in bulk. Fortunately, I prefer my Coca Cola,
iced tea and occasional bit of Kentucky and Tennessee's finest sour mash brew.

I would wager to bet that a similar poll a few years would barely make the single digits on the Boogerman of the Year poll.

I reckon few people wish to take the time out to read le Diplo and other analyses out of Europe and the UK to understand what is going on the world. Iran is determined not to get hemmed in by the Sunnis and a repeat of the Iranian-Iraqi War of the 80s.

Iran knows that the oil will shortly be a very precious commodity and they need to prepare for an increased economic base in order to prepare for the day which shall soon come when the Black Gold can't be pumped out profitably any longer.

Face it, the USA was the state that propped up the Shah, encouraged the coup that terminated their first and only stab at democracy and left the Iranians with that greedy geezer and his SAVAK.

Hell, never mind, they can't read French and think the Guardian is still in Manchester and the Independent doesn't exist, much less Fisk's reporting from the Middle East. . .

7. You only need look at the article
to understand why so many have bought the propaganda:

"With tensions rising between Washington and Tehran amid comments from US leaders that Iran risks being attacked over its alleged nuclear weapons program..."

Why do we never have a sentence stating that there is no evidence to back up these allegations? No, actually, screw that: just stop giving credence to this propagandist bullcrap and drop the "alleged nuclear weapons program" shite altogether. :grr:

12. Yep, advertising works
The idea that Iran is somehow a "threat" to the United States would be laughable if the implications and the track record of this corrupt administration weren't so deadly (literally) serious.
