Source: KUNA

BAGHDAD, Oct 9 (KUNA) -- Unknown gunmen kidnapped Tuesday the director of Basra International Airport near his house in northern Basra, southern Iraq, a security source said.

A security source from Basra told KUNA on the phone the gunmen forced Abdurrazaq Qassem at gun point to get out of his car and took him to an unknown destination.

Basra is 590 kilometers south of the capital, Baghdad, and is the second largest Iraqi city. Basra is the only Iraqi city with water front and is a major port for oil exports.

Around 5,500 British forces are stationed in Basra. (end) mhg.bs

1. Basra is cooled down to the point the Brits are leaving.
Yeah, right.

From what I gather, Basra and Baghdad are the only (barely) functioning commercial airfields operating in Iraq.

Man, we are kicking total ass.
