White House: Uranium claim incorrect

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Amid questions about prewar intelligence, the White House is acknowledging that President Bush was incorrect when he said in his State of the Union address that Iraq recently had sought significant quantities of uranium in Africa.

The White House acknowledgment comes as a British parliamentary commission questions the reliability of British intelligence about Saddam Hussein's efforts to obtain weapons of mass destruction in the run-up to the war in Iraq.

Democrats in Congress also have questioned how the Bush administration used U.S. intelligence on Iraq's weapons programs.

Bush said in his address to Congress in January that the British government had learned that Saddam recently sought significant quantities of uranium in Africa.

The president's statement in the State of the Union was incorrect because it was based on forged documents from the African nation of Niger, White House spokesman Ari Fleischer said Monday.

2. Forged Documents

This admission of the documents being forged is a distraction. We have known they were forged since shortly after Powell's U.N. "presentation". The news is that the * administration was aware of this fact months before the State of The Union but used it to justify invading Iraq anyway. The "incorrect info" admission will now become a story on the corporate news to drown out the news that they LIED to get support for WAR!

The forged documents that ALLEGE to have been written in Niger, was, since it was 'forged', NOT actually written in Niger, but wherever the FORGER resided at the time .....

These misstatements are so blatant ....

The ACTUAL source of these documents: IE the FORGER who created these out of whole clothe, is the REAL issue .....

7. Mispeaking means you never have to say you lied

The Whitehouse announced that the President mispoke about Niger selling nuclear materials to Iraq. "oops"

The President mispoke during his State of Union Address? Did the hard copy of the State of the Union address have a typo in it? Were there telepromptor problems? Did the President not rehearse enough? The President mispoke, we invaded Iraq. "oops".

Over 300 Service men and women dead. The President mispoke. "oops".

Over 5,000 Iraqis are dead. The President mispoke. "oops".

But, it's not his fault, he mispoke, relied on faulty intelligence. How much else was based on faulty intelligence? How much else is going to quietly revealed as being "mispoken"? The President mispoke. "oops".

The President stood in front of the American people at least 3 times and "mispoke". We are embroiled in a war, attempting to reconstruct a country all because the President mispoke. "oops".
