Fifty Iranian Guards train south Iraq militias: U.S.
Sun Aug 19, 2007 6:04AM EDT

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - About 50 members of Iran's elite
Revolutionary Guards are believed to be training Shi'ite
militias in the use of mortars and rockets in southern
Iraq, the general commanding U.S. troops in the area
said on Sunday.

"We are concerned primarily about the training of Shi'ite
extremists. We think there are about 50 members of the
Iranian Revolutionary Guards," Major-General Rick Lynch,
commander of U.S. forces south of Baghdad, told
reporters.

Lynch said there had been an increase in "indirect fire
attacks" on U.S. forces in his area of command and that
rocket attacks were becoming "more accurate and more
effective".

Washington has accused Shi'ite Muslim Iran of fomenting
violence in Iraq through its support for Shi'ite militias,
especially in southern Iraq.

1. Surely he's not suggesting that the Badr Brigade is attacking US troops?
Perhaps he would like to be specific in naming the militias Iran is training, and which militias are attacking US troops, in case the two are not one and the same? That might be important information, were it not propaganda.

2. Didn't Bushco run the "accuracy" flag up the pole before?
I believe they maintained that recent improvements of targeting by insurgents was the result of Iranian assistance.

"We think there are about 50 members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards,"

Of course everyone "knew" there were WMDs in Iraq, along with an attempted purchase of uranium yellow-cake that would be enriched using centrifuges constructed with those aluminum tubes. By the way can we get a little confirmation on this from Vice President Dick "Last throes" Cheney.

5. Yup ...
... ''believe'', but not one shred of evidence to support the claim.

And silence from the Congressional Democrats who refuse to demand proof.

6. Not only have this administration's 'intelligence' been proven bullshit,
they've bitten off way more than they could chew with every action. The only alternative to another quagmire ala Iraq? Nuclear weapons. And this administration is doing everything they can to make people believe that a nuclear attack would be 'justified'.

Pray to whatever Gods or whatever higher power you do believe in that they're stopped. Because with KKKarl gone, I think that bush** is isolated and unable to hold of cheney much longer. Not unless he start's listening to that deathmongering vile old man that sired him and tells cheney and the neos to f**k off. (In fact, I think that cheney isn't going to leave anything to chance and that's a lot of what's behind this new weapons deal with Israel. That's his back-up plan.)

9. That was probably a problem of the munitions, not training.

Muslim terror suspect allowed to stay in UK

A Muslim terror suspect -living in the UK has publicly praised the insurgents who are battling British forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Hani al-Sibai claimed that Islamic fighters were humiliating Western forces, adding: "In the battlefield, they are the masters."

The 46-year-old radical was refused asylum nine years ago after British security chiefs concluded he was a senior member of the terrorist group Egyptian Islamic Jihad, an allegation he denies. He has, however, been granted temporary permission to live in the UK while officials consider his latest claim for asylum.

snip

When he first claimed asylum in the UK in 1994, he told officials he had been tortured in Egypt because he had acted as a lawyer for Islamist groups and was linked to the opposition Muslim Brotherhood.

He was refused asylum on national security grounds, and was jailed in 1998 pending deportation. However, human rights laws make it impossible for suspects to be returned to countries where they might be tortured or killed, and Britain was unable to obtain from Egypt the necessary assurances as to al-Sibai's welfare.

Can you believe this guy is unemployed? Bites the hand that feeds him.

He doesn't want to go back to Egypt,
