Court to hear Haneef Australian visa case

A small group of protesters gathered outside the Brisbane court where a hearing begins Wednesday on the cancellation of Mohamed Haneef's visa.

The former Indian doctor was detained for 12 days for his alleged links to the failed car bombings in the United Kingdom.

Charges laid against him were eventually dropped.

Dr Haneef's lawyers are expected to argue that the immigration minister, Kevin Andrews, failed to take into account a range of factors when cancelling his visa last month. ~snip~
