Clark Welcomes Grandson
http://www.clark04.com/story/54/Wes Clark received the Christmas surprise of a lifetime, his first grandchild, a baby boy. Baby Wes was not due until January. He was born at 5:20 on Christmas night to Wesley Clark Jr. and his wife, Astrid. He weighed 6 lb. 15 oz. and is 22 inches long.
Proud father, Wes, said, "He's beautiful. He's got a head full of dark hair. Astrid and the baby are doing well."
"This was the Christmas gift of a lifetime," said proud grandfather, Wesley K. Clark. "We couldn't be prouder or happier. We thank all our friends around the country for their prayers and good wishes during Astrid's pregnancy. Gert and I are thrilled and grateful for this healthy little boy."
The grandparents-to-be waited outside the delivery room while the baby was born. They called family and friends immediately. It was an emotional experience for Clark who was not present to witness the birth of his own son due to his service in Vietnam.
