Bomb threat prompts caution at Central High

Hundreds of students at Omaha Central High School decided to stay out of school today after a bomb threat was spray-painted on the outside walls of the building and the school's football stadium.
For it to be an excused absence, parents must call the school, said Luanne Nelson, a spokeswoman for the Omaha Public Schools.
A custodian alerted authorities at 4:30 a.m. today after discovering the graffiti. The threats indicated that a bomb would go off at 9 a.m.
Police searched the building, but there was no evidence of a break-in, Nelson said.
Officials checked the backpacks of students before allowing them inside. All students had to enter on the building's west side.
