US Republicans signal readiness to resume Iraq weapons probe
WASHINGTON: US Senate Republicans signaled Sunday their readiness to resume a probe into pre-war charges that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction, which was halted more than six weeks ago amid bitter partisan bickering, reports a news agency.

"I think we will have, hopefully, some public hearings by February," announced Pat Roberts, chairman of the US Senate intelligence committee, appearing on a TV programme "Face the Nation". "We will get those questions out."

US President George W. Bush and other top administration officials had accused Iraq of secretly producing chemical and biological weapons in violation of UN resolutions -- charges that were used to justify the March invasion of the country. No banned weapons have been found in Iraq since then, despite an intense search by a team of experts from the Pentagon and the Central Intelligence Agency.

3. Oh Bullshit
they don't want to do any such thing. Do they ever tire of lying and making excuses for their sorry excuse for a leader and his failed policies?

7. here comes the plant...
...in other words, they want to go over there and PLANT some since they couldn't find any. Can't have little george in that embarassing position, can we?

'if they can't find 'em, they'll plant 'em'

They'll get away with it too, since people are so utterly gullible and tend to swallow whole whatever the 'News' media feeds them- true or not.

He damn near guaranteed a WMD "find". He's comin home empty handed with his tail between his legs (no offence to the animals, y'all).
