Blizzard is worst in a decade
BY JUDITH NYGREN
WORLD-HERALD STAFF WRITER

A late-winter storm that blew into Omaha this morning dumped up to a foot of snow in some areas, bringing much of the city to a standstill.

Schools and businesses, including major shopping malls, closed. Interstates in eastern Nebraska and western Iowa shut down except for within the city. Some drivers who couldn't make it through the snow abandoned their vehicles in the street.

City buses stopped running. Utility companies reported scattered power outages. Even the Girl Scouts took the unusual step of canceling cookie deliveries.

The heavy snow, strong winds and rush-hour timing made it the nastiest winter traffic mess in a decade.

FULL story at link.

Yesterday, we got dumped with 7" snow!!! This same storm what's causing the midwest the head aches today. This is all part of Global unstableness... What Al Gore is talking about. I'm afraid, we haven't nothing yet... worst to come!
