2. They did great work.
Edited on Mon Dec-18-06 07:03 PM by Bornaginhooligan
A lot of stuff they did in the sixties and seventies made Hanna-Barbera synonymous with crap. But their early work was great.

12. End of an era for me, as well
Edited on Tue Dec-19-06 02:26 AM by PlanetBev
I worked at Hanna-Barbera from 1977 to 1980 as a cartoon cel painter.

I got to admit, it was a pretty fun, mindless job. Sat at my desk, listening to the radio with my headphones on, and painted away. I had a lot of laughs, because the animators were so crazy. Most of those guys are gone now. I also heard that the guy who created Bullwinkle died today. Strange.

By the time 1987 rolled around, they had sent all of the work out of the country and the good times were gone.

15. I still watch the Flintstones and probably will until *I'm* 95.
Rest in peace, Joe, and thanks for creating characters that were so much a part of my childhood that they'll always be part of me, too.

17. Seemed like a nice guy.
Their Tom and Jerry cartoons were among the most clever and entertaining in animation history.

When TV came to be, they adapted their style to the new medium and did very well.
