Bush signs nuclear deal with India
Bush signs nuclear deal with India

WASHINGTON --
Ending three decades of "isolation" for India, President Bush today signed path-changing legislation that will enable American firms to assist in the expansion of India's civil nuclear power generationopening significant new trade doors with an emerging Asian power once at odds with the United States.

The agreement represents a reversal of decades of discord with India, which developed its nuclear weaponry outside the bounds of international treaties and long stood as a Cold War ally of the Soviet Union.

"This will represent a major sea change in the way the world works," said Nicholas Burns, the undersecretary of state for political affairs who negotiated the deal with India. "There is a larger story herethe U.S. is making a strategic move to build a stronger relationship with India,'' Burns added, suggesting that after more than three decades of adversarial relations the U.S. is "bringing India in from the cold."

2. Bush holds some countries more accountable than others. It depends on
which list he's been slipped as the "enemy of the month," or fits into his "axis of evil doers." :-(

What hypocrits they are, and his supporters don't seem to even understand the word.

3. The hypocrisy with which the bush cabal deals with various
countries in the area of nuclear weaponry continues to be breathtaking and sends a VERY strong message to other countries to get nuclear weaponry as soon as possible and you, too, will get a wink and a nod as to how your nuclear weaponry was obtained and you will become a "good friend" of the US and off the "enemy of freedom" list.
