LAT: Schwarzenegger is blunt to Bush: Sends tart letter on pollution
Governor is blunt to Bush
Schwarzenegger sends a tart letter on pollution. Angelides sees a ruse.
By Michael Finnegan and Scott Martelle, Times Staff Writers
October 25, 2006

After weeks of subtle jabs at fellow Republicans in Congress and the White House, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger turned more blunt Tuesday in a tart letter to President Bush. Chiding the president for ignoring his plea for more leeway to toughen California's vehicle exhaust standards, Schwarzenegger complained about "the absence of a coherent federal policy" to stop global warming.

At the same time, Schwarzenegger's Democratic challenger, state Treasurer Phil Angelides, dismissed the governor's detachment from Bush as a ruse. "Look, the Republicans are going down in this election, and Arnold Schwarzenegger is going with them, because he is part of the same team and has the same agenda," Angelides said Tuesday after a Bay Area speech to a raucous union crowd.

With the California election two weeks away, the back-and-forth captured the contrasting approaches that Schwarzenegger and Angelides are taking in the final stretch.

At tightly staged events this week in San Diego, Glendale and Oakland, Schwarzenegger has all but severed his Republican ties while playing up the value of bipartisan harmony....

***

For his part, Angelides has raced around the state making partisan appeals to Democrats this week in an effort to maximize any boost he might get from his party's national surge in the run-up to the midterm election....

9. I'll never forgive him for Macpherson.
That asshole has shoved auditless Diebolds down the throat of every CA county, in direct violation of the state legislature's laws concerning paperless voting. He's being sued for it right now -- the intent is so damned obvious, it reeks of Rove. I know Arnold is putting on a happy face -- but I watched his right-wing macho posturing with the firefighters and nurses less than a year ago; I went to those demonstrations at the capital. I won't buy this crap for a minute.

10. Arnie's tart until the next time he needs to fellate Bush.
As much as I appreciate the LA Times' attempt to paint Schwarzenegger as a "blunt" tough guy, when Bush yells "jump," Arnie asks "how high."

12. Too bad Arnie can't govern as well as he campaigns
All center-left and stuff just before the election, but then back to big-business-as-usual afterward.

I would've thought that kuhlifornians would've burnt out on him when they found out he considers teachers, nurses and firefighters as "special interests".

15. "I am the solution". Yeah, we always hear that from Repugs for THEIR problems.
Who damages the pollution laws? Who sends industry to places where there are none? Republicans.

Who is the solution for problems they've created? Arnold. He said the same thing about the Enron problem, which was likely a planned opporunity to destablize the pesky huge blue state of California into Republican domination. Rumor has it that he met with Enron prior to the forced recall election.

These people are glassmakers who run around breaking windows and offering their services.

Consider if the loss of the US Treasury to the Military-Industrial complex is just another Enronning/Siverado'ing, but of the country in general. If there is no more money left, and if there is another attack, where will the money come from? Will they propose "borrowing" the Social Security funds they drool over?

When will people see BushCo as businessmen with a sadistic twist?
