NEWARK, N.J. (AP) -- Federal authorities Friday charged a Wisconsin man in a hoax threat that warned seven football stadiums across the nation would be targeted by terrorists with radiological "dirty bombs" this weekend.
The U.S. Attorney's Office in Newark did not immediately identify the man but said in a news release announcing the charge that he would be in court in Milwaukee later Friday.
4. Does appear the story was "pumped up" quite a bit in the early stages
of the investigation. Hate being so cynical....but, come on. With all the records they have access to they must have had that entire exchange reassembled long before this went public. Nice marketing ploy for DHS though, reminder that they are on the job.
Wonder what the charges will be? Let this be a lesson when co-authoring a fairy tale online - insert lots of disclaimers.
