Pentagon rejects British claim their reporter was unlawfully killed
The Pentagon says American soldiers did nothing wrong in an incident that left a British TV reporter dead in Iraq.

A coroner in England is ruling that US forces unlawfully killed the reporter, and he wants British authorities to bring them to justice.

But the Pentagon says its own investigation finds the Americans followed proper rules of engagement. In a statement, officials say they've never deliberately targeted civilians and have "always gone to extreme measures" to avoid civilian casualties.

Witnesses told British investigators that the reporter was shot in the back by Iraqi troops who overtook his car during the early days of the war. The witnesses say he died from a bullet to the head after US troops fired on a civilian minivan being used as an ambulance.

2. Yes, we've already lost The British People's support, let's go about
pissing off their leadership too.

How much will the UK take to belong in the BushWorld Clubhouse?

3. "the Pentagon says its own investigation finds "
Who the hell cares what the pentagon's self-serving CYA investigations find? Since when does anyone trust the pentagon to investigate themselves?

4. A Non-Denial, Denial?
"Americans followed proper rules of engagement", huh? The ROE of the US military are not law and do not supersede law. Maybe it's time to review them anyhow.

6. Not even that. The Pentagon has just admitted ...
... that the proper American rules of engagement see nothing wrong with
shooting up an ambulance ...

Justice? Freedom? Yeah, right ...
