Israel sacks war critic general
5 October 2006

A top Israeli general has been sacked by the army chief for criticising the way the military conducted the recent war in Lebanon in media interviews.

Maj Gen Yiftah Ron-Tal was fired by Lt Gen Dan Halutz for breaching the ban on Israeli troops making public comments on political and diplomatic issues.

Gen Ron-Tall said Gen Halutz must "accept responsibility" for what he said was the "failure" of the war.

He also criticised Israel's unilateral pull-out from Gaza last year.

3. Same old story...
...Military leaders forced to fight wars decided on and strategized by political leaders.

If political leaders the world over would simply speak with their military leaders BEFORE opening thir big yaps, you'd have a lot less catastafucks on your hands.

There still might be wars in Iraq and Lebanon, but they'd be fought a LOT more decisively and with a lot less civilian casualties.
