8. Negron to replace Foley in the race

wouldn't want to be in this guys shoes. He's going to have to ask people to vote for Foley's name.

http://www.palmbeachpost.com/blogs/content/shared-blogs/palmbeach/floridapolitics/entries/2006/10/02/negron_replaces_foley.html

Just months after stepping away from the race for state attorney general because he didn’t have enough name recognition, state Rep. Joe Negron will try to get to Congress using someone else’s.
“In a normal campaign, it’s always nice if your name is on the ballot,” Negron said. “Since that is not going to happen in this case, that’s my number one issue.
Negron was picked this afternoon to replace Mark Foley as the Republican candidate for Congressional District 16, which includes parts of Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie and Okeechobee counties.

Foley’s name will remain on the ballot — some absentee ballots in the district have already been mailed — but any votes he receives will count for Negron. Foley, a congressman for 12 years in the District, abruptly resigned Friday when ABC News reported he had been trading sexually explicit instant messages with teenage boys.

13. How can votes for Foley be counted as votes for Negron?
That is a bunch of bullshit. Any votes for Foley should be thrown out.

15. Yet again the ignorance of the average Republican voter ...
... will be to our advantage.

How many GOP voters who don't follow the news in detail will see Foley's name and think, "I seem to remember some unpleasantness to do with this boy a few weeks ago, so I won't be voting for him."

17. .
That's why the Dem campaign shouldn't even mention the new Repub. Just make it a battle against Foley. That won't help his problem with the name recognition.

And who says Negron or any of the other Republican in office or organization didn't know about Foley's situation for many years.

Lol, "Would for me, not for Foley the sexual predator."
Damn, I'd so like to see the faces of those who will give their vote to Foley. Possibly making sure that noone sees how they cast their vote for the pervert.

Don't allow Sen. Allen to pronounce Rep. Negron's name in public. Don't take the chance.

22. Some friendly Democrat from that district whose name is Negron .....
should start a "Write in" campaign in order to snag a few votes from "Repub - Foley."

Put..... "Write in Negron," signs all over the district.

25. How come Negron can do this in FL with Foley
But the Texas GOP can't do this with their candidate who's running to replace DeLay? There should be a court challenge coming out of this.

Therefore he is the candidate.
