Casey OKs 3 more debates with Santorum
Republican's aides want more face-to-face forums

Treasurer Bob Casey's campaign said yesterday that it had agreed to three more debates with Sen. Rick Santorum, including one sponsored by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and KDKA-TV, in addition to their previously scheduled meeting Sept. 3 on "Meet the Press."

"We believe that there should be at least 10 debates," Ms. Davis said. "The fact that Casey has demonstrated a real unwillingness about this is really troubling."

Larry Smar, a spokesman for Mr. Casey, said the Democrat's campaign preferred to deal directly with various debate organizers, and he contended that Mr. Santorum had been deliberately misleading in repeatedly claiming that his opponent was dodging debates.

"Santorum should stop the nonsense, the whining, and the misinformation," said Mr. Smar. "Bob Casey has accepted four debates to date and is considering additional invitations."
