Blackwell Hires LeBron Publicist For Black Voter Outreach

COLUMBUS -- Republican gubernatorial candidate Ken Blackwell has hired the businesswoman who managed LeBron James' adolescent celebrity to coordinate the Blackwell campaign's outreach to black voters.

Alexandria Johnson Boone, president and CEO of Cleveland-based GAP Communications Group, will organize and implement voter outreach and education for the campaign.

Under Boone's watch, GAP has become one of Ohio's largest minority-owned communications firms, representing clients including James, who landed on the cover of Sports Illustrated under her representation while he was still in high school.

Boone is also founder of Women of Color Foundation, a nonprofit educational and leadership development group, and of the Marcus Garvey Academy Middle School, a community school in East Cleveland.
