Seven die in Baghdad gun battle

At least seven people have been killed in Baghdad in clashes between a Shia
militia group and US and Iraqi troops, police and witnesses say.

Mehdi Army fighters, loyal to radical Shia cleric Moqtada Sadr, battled troops
for four hours in Baghdad's eastern Sadr City district.

Iraqi officials said about 30 people were injured.

The US said troops were carrying out a raid aimed at arresting an "insurgent
leader" blamed for a series of attacks.

A senior official in Moqtada Sadr's office said the intended target of the operation
was Abu Dera, a senior figure in the Mehdi Army.

1. And if we arrest Moqtada Sadr himself?
(since we and the "Iraqi Army" are fighting them in the streets of Baghdad)?

How will that serve the interests of the Iraqi people?

what a clusterf*ck...

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Iraqi soldiers captured a militant leader and
more than 30 insurgents were killed or wounded Friday in a
gunbattle in eastern Baghdad, the U.S. military said.

The military said the gunfight erupted after Iraqi forces came
under during a raid in the Shiite slum of Sadr City.

An insurgent leader was detained during the operation. The military
said he headed "multiple insurgent cells in Baghdad" that had attacked
Iraqi and coalition forces with roadside bombs and car bombs.

3. How do they count the number of kills when the big solutions
are rolled out the back of a plane.... or just release from under the wing.... hope there were any "innocents" in the area.
