Cheney: Iraq pullout 'worst possible thing we could do'

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Withdrawing American troops from Iraq would embolden terrorists and leave the United States and its allies vulnerable to new attacks, Vice President Dick Cheney said Thursday.

"The worst possible thing we could do is what the Democrats are suggesting," Cheney told CNN's John King in an interview at the vice president's residence.

...

Neither an immediate or phased withdrawal would confer any protection on the United States, Cheney said. "If we pull out, they'll follow us," he said of terrorists.

...

"And it will continue -- whether we complete the job or not in Iraq -- only it'll get worse. Iraq will become a safe haven for terrorists. They'll use it in order to launch attacks against our friends and allies in that part of the world."

5. If what Dick is saying is true, he really fucked us good, didn't he?
If Dick and George and Rummy put us in a position where we have to stay in Iraq forever so the terrorists don't follow our troops home and kill us in our beds, I would say we are FUCKED!

And who fucked us? Looks like Dick and George and Rummy.

Their story line these days is "We're losing the war, we have to stay in until we win or we're fucked." How do they think that helps them? Are they nuts?

How does it feel that most "Democrats" prefer Cheney's outlook to that of the Democratic base and the public at large?

At the top of "worst possible things we could do":

Invade Iraq without enough troops to win the war!

19. But what "war" in Iraq? The war to destroy Iraq's infrastructure
and murder perhaps hundreds of thousands of her citizens?

How would "enough troops" have made our illegal invasion a "success"? By killing every single patriotic Iraqi?

10. How do you spell Quagmire?
I-R-A-Q.

Now, I am not sure that it is the Democrats who originally said that we should leave Iraq quickly. I believe that, before the war started, the Republicans in the current administration were telling everybody that this would be a very short war that would not involve many troops or cost much money and we would be leaving in a matter of weeks or months, after establishing a democratic government that could stand on its own.

It is unfathomable that so many people believe these, . . . REPUBLICANS.

18. The current debate shows how politically inept the DNC is
The issue should be how we got there to begin with, but what incompetent and evil conservatives got us into this problem to begin with. but no, we're playing by their rules again. Why is it that when Liberals lose elections it's because of conservatives and when Liberals win it's because of conservatives. Why!

immoral invasion, for Mr. Five Deferments who shouts "Go f**k yourself!" to all who have a reasonable solution to propose...

Could it be because that evil coward's "options" would 'suffer'?

Cut (government programs) and run away with the money plus the national credit-card, and then lie and send the lower class cannon fodder to die on foreign desert stages R the Republicans' principles they 'stick to' since Jan/01.

They had better come up with some kind of a plan other than an unsustainable open ended occupation.

The pie in the sky hopes for the parliament thing are just that, the minute cheney turns his back, poof
goes parliament and he knows it.

I can't believe Americans are so logically impaired that they would fall for a statement like this. I know they will though because I still see Bush/Cheney bumper stickers all over the place in brain dead southern California.
