Fed hints at looming US slowdown (BBC) {Beige Book report}
Despite recent growth in the US, there are signs the economy could be slowing down, the US Federal Reserve has said.

While overall economic activity grew between April and June, consumers are showing signs of caution as energy prices rise, the Fed's Beige Book said.

Particularly hard hit are lower income families, as sales at low price discount stores weakened.

The Beige Book, based on information from 12 regional Federal Banks aims to give a snapshot of the US economy.

"High gasoline prices were cited by a few districts as changing purchasing patterns or clouding the outlook for sales," the Fed survey said.

1. I wonder...
if when the dems take over again there will be investigations and other examinations of the policies and acts of this administration? If so would it even matter?

6. The economy is great when you're perched at the top
of our national pyramid scheme. And unchecked ballooning deficits (which favor those at the top) start producing inflation.

3. Translation: Revving In Reverse!
Can't get any slower without going backwards, which is now happening (see stock markets, housing prices, etc.)

5. I'll tell you how great the economy is
My stepdaughter works for a contractor with the Army. This company handles things like pest control and environmental matters at a large Army base in Maryland. She is their one and only certified environmental specialist and having her on staff in mandated not just by the fed regs and Army regs, but also by the State of Maryland. The company notified all employees today that there is a meeting tomorrow with corporate heads regarding everyone's jobs. My stepdaughter has been told on one hand that there is funding for her position through September 30, but on the other hand has been told that as of June 23rd it's termination time for everyone. She is desperately searching for another job and has a couple of leads. In your wildest dreams, did you ever think that necessary services to an army base would be cut? Thanks Mr. Bush for a booming economy.

7. Well, Bush is a louse, or a cockroach if you prefer
So it's no surprise his administration doesn't want to put up money for pest control on military bases. It's all in the family.
