1. Dodi Fayed and Diana had gotten engaged, and in fact Diana was pregnant.

2. The Fayeds are close with the Saudi royal family.

3. Diana is to be mother of the King of England. If she marries into islam, than her children could conceivably be islamic, but more importantly the King of England would be half-brother to muslims. AND since Diana might be controlled by muslims it follows that they might have control over William through his mother.

Ipso Facto Saudi Arabia might gain control over England if the marriage between Dodi Fayed and Diana were consumated.

You could see how some arch-conservative royalists might have an issue with this scenario.
