Terrorists of Tiny Town(Homeland Security - no kindergartners at NASA)
http://www.freetimes.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=3068&POSTNUKESID=86cad678c7511d1206e3b0a1ca154dd9

...The kindergarten class at Lakewood’s Taft Elementary was planning a field trip to NASA Glenn Research Center. It’s a popular trip because it’s free, because the NASA staff already has age-appropriate tours that fit well with school curriculum, and, well, it’s outer space, for pete’s sake. They’ve got rocket ships...

But school principal Margaret Seibel says this year’s trip for Taft kindergarteners — we’re talking 6-year-olds here — had to be canceled due to homeland security concerns.

Since new security regulations went into effect in May 1, 2005, access to the Visitor Center is restricted to United State citizens. All others might be terrorists...

Because two kids in the kindergarten class are not U.S. citizens, the teacher had to cancel the trip...

3. So, being they ARE NOT citizens, HSA and NSA can spy on them?
Hmmmmm, _there_ is an implication to that ruling on citizenship.

4. One of them MIGHT have smuggled a bomb in his pants...
...or under her dress. Also, six-year-old kids are very adept at spying (remember the game "I Spy"?). Yep, true terrorists in the making. :P

5. Well,
if they don't make it to the potty on time...I've had to deal with a few of these stink bombs. I know the list covers terrorist but I was not aware it covered terrors too. We have one class here that has a few holy terrors.

7. LMAO...those stink bombs can be deadly...
And I'm sure there's a clause somewhere in the Homeland Security documents that says holy terrors can be detained without counsel and without cause just like enemy combatants. They are disruptive and of course a threat to the entire class.

13. We had a case here in Houston,
where a toddler was on the no fly list. Thank God Homeland Security is on the ball. These little terrors have been all worked up since the No Child Left Behind Program, cuts to Head Start, and the school lunch program. And the colourized terror alerts just set them off. The only thing that works on them when they get agitated is a taser. It gets pretty ugly here in the schools. I have said all along that since more money is spent on incarceration rather than education, the education system should become part of the penal system and kids should be sentenced to 16-18 years of hard education time. That would keep America safe.

6. What a crock.
All non-citizens are banned, period. No tourists, no exchange students. Why not use metal detectors? Of course, in this right-to-carry state, some Native Born Texans might get into trouble.

Afraid of spies? I doubt that high-security projects are visible in the Visitors Center.

12. I sincerely hope the children were not told
the reason for the cancellation, making the non-citizens targets of their disappointment...
