Rice rules out 2008 run for president

MONROVIA, Liberia --Not even a vote of confidence from Laura Bush can change Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's mind about running for president in 2008.

Before leaving for Africa, the first lady predicted the United States soon would have a female president -- a Republican, and maybe even Rice.

"I think it will happen for sure," Mrs. Bush said Friday about a woman in the Oval Office.

Asked about the first lady's comments Sunday, Rice laughed and good naturedly answered the re-occurring question about her prospects for president in 2008. No dice, she said -- for the umpteenth time.

6. I think Clinton

is trying to turn poppy into a human. Poppy is the real power. He's the guy that has been behind everything from the Bay of Pigs to 9-11. Clinton saw an opportunity to have access to the inner circle of BushCo and they could not keep him out. Poppy at least has half a brain and I would love to be in on some of those late night 'foreign policy' talks that the two of them must have had flying around Asia last year. This is sort of like battle of the Titans and I just hope Clinton is changing Poppy's heart, rather then Poppy changing him.
