Turmoil in Iraq is part of progress, Bush says
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/01/10/AR2006011001452.html

President Bush warned Americans yesterday that they can expect to see more violence in Iraq over the next year but called this the price of progress as the country stands up its own security forces and moves toward democracy.

Speaking to members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Bush said that in the coming weeks Iraq is likely to be the scene of "a good deal of political turmoil" as factions jockey for position and vie for power. Rather than being alarmed by those developments, he said, "we should welcome this for what it is: freedom in action."

"Out of the turmoil in Iraq, a free government will emerge that represents the will of the Iraqi people, instead of the will of one cruel dictator," Bush said.

8. Is this madman's vision of "progress"
worth the deaths and maimings on both sides? Is his idea of what it takes to create his legacy as a "wartime president" worth the pain and suffering that he has caused? My answer is NO.

13. 'political turmoil'
the propaganda is coming hard and fast of late. we've heard several new phrases in the last little while. 'abramoff-linked money', 'irresponsible criticism' and now 'political turmoil'. we should have a contest to make up new ones.

14. I see Bush is using a different tactic.
He's using the "agree with you" tactic, and the classic "divide and conquer". Notice? Just yesterday, Bush openly said that "some believe we went into Iraq because of the OIL or because of Israel. He's finally getting real.

For the past 5 years, all we've had is insane, Hitler-like propaganda, canned speeches about "freedom" "democracy"; the same lines over and over.

Now, suddenly he's being realistic. But don't be fooled. The mask is off. We're seeing the REAL Bush. But he's still the same criminal.
