Blair: history will prove us right on Iraq
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Prime Minister Tony Blair says that history will forgive America and Britain for invading Iraq, even if they are proved wrong about the threat from its weapons of mass destruction.

In an impassioned defence of the war, Blair told a joint meeting of the U.S. Congress on Thursday that toppling former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein was justified irrespective of the suspected armament that has failed to materialise.

"Can we be sure that terrorism and WMD will join together? Let us say one thing: If we are wrong we will have destroyed a threat that at its least is responsible for inhuman carnage and suffering," Blair said in what was billed as one of the most important foreign speeches of his six-year premiership.

"That is something I am confident history will forgive."

29. New battle cry: All the right reasons for all the wrong things.
Why doesn't someone ask Chimp or Phony Blair if that's what they mean? Lying will be worth it, right?

Edited on Thu Jul-17-03 03:53 PM by saigon68
Step right up folks come and see the little LAP DOG lick the back of his masters hand.

Come see the little POODLE squirm as he tries to tell the parents of those soldiers he sent off to be killed, that they died for British Petroleum, Brown and Root and Haliburton.

Come watch POODLE turn IRAQ-NAM into a wonderful place with love, flowers and music from the sixties.

VOMITING COPIOUSLY AAARGH

6. General Mandible said it in "Ants"
after explaining his plan to wipe out all the 'lower elements' of their society.

Sort of a meglomaniac's line. I'm surprized Blair used it.

Then again, he was talking to Americans.

7. break out the tar and feathers
Let us say one thing: If we are wrong we will have destroyed a threat that at its least is responsible for inhuman carnage and suffering

the problem tony is that you've said more than one thing. your story keeps changing. and as for the last bit about how the ends justify the means --- any terrorist would say the same thing.

8. how typical.. no accountability...

I love how all their disastrous actions will, according to them, eventually be right...

Deficits will go down in 2005..or something.. WMD's will eventually be found.. or if not, history will vindicate us...

These guys' motto should be "Eventually, we may decide to stop fucking you over..."

If they're so smart, how come they can't do something that seems right at the time?

19. He can afford to be confident with that Bushevik-Carlyle paycheck!
Mussolini: History will prove us right on the invasions of Ethiopia and Poland. I am confident that history will forgive us.

Think about it: What monster, what despot (or despot's pet poodle) EVER thought history wouldn't vindicate them.

Charlie Manson: I am sure history will forgive us for the Tate-Lobianca murders. Look at the good that came out of it by sparking the Great Race War.

<sarcasm off>

:puke:

Yeah, Blairolini, we're glad you are as confident as every other dictator, oppressor, unjustified invader, and colonizer IN FGUCKING HISTORY.

You sure convinced me, you yipping pathetic poodle.

I, on the other hand, am equally convinced that history will villify Blairolini as it will with Emperor Tiberius* as the wasters of lives, resource, goodwill, and time.
