Iran orders “agents” to rig Iraq’s elections - report
Iran has ordered its “agents” in Iraq to rig the parliamentary elections on Thursday, according to an Iraqi website. The plan is to be carried out in three stages, the website Iraq al-Qad wrote on Wednesday.

The first stage involves voting multiple times with forged ballots. There will also be widespread propaganda to mislead ordinary Iraqis to vote for the pro-Iran Shiite slate led by the cleric Abdul-Aziz al-Hakim.

During the second stage, Tehran’s agents will attempt to tamper with the records of all the ballot boxes at the end of the polls, the report said.

The third stage is when the final voting slips are delivered to the provincial capitals to be transferred to the United Nations’ tally centre. Tehran has ordered its agents, some of whom have senior official positions, to tamper with the votes in certain provinces.

3. That website looks real hinky to me
I wouldn't be surprised if the Iranians were up to something, but the source of this article and the other articles on the website looks like something published by the CIA or the US state department.
I read the "about us" page, but see no names to track down.

4. Iran is going to counter the Republicans, maybe we could learn something
from them to get our own elections straightened out. Are the Iranians saying "they steal 1,000,000 votes, we should steal 2,000,000 back"?

6. Mr. al Hakim might well try to put a thumb on the scale.
The rest of this seems like blather.

7. Odor Detected.....
This seems like something our State Dept., or Rummy's Dept. of Defense, would put out to cover their butts if things go kaflooie on election day. Classic.

8. It sounds like a U.S. presidential election.
I guess Bush is exporting U.S. democracy:

- voting multiple times with forged ballots

- widespread propaganda to mislead

- tamper with the records of all the ballot boxes

- tamper with the votes in certain provinces

They are missing "suppress your opponents' turnout with 10 hour lineups", "make sure TV networks announce your guy is the winner during disputed election", and "use one-time only Supreme Court ruling to favor your guy".

9. Iran has come over to the dark side?
I'm not certain that you've understood the report. Iran, hosting an unfriendly government, is behind the election-rigging scheme ... unless you are saying that the US administration is suddenly getting along with that nation's government and attempting to yank the rug out from under it's own long-term Iraq policy advances, I don't see your point. If you're just making an attempt at humor though, the sarcasm is pretty good.
